BUISA
About BUISA
BUISA (Beihang University Indonesian Students Association) is the official association for Indonesian students at Beihang University, Beijing, China. BUISA traces its roots back to 8 November 2008, when the Indonesian student community at Beihang was first established under the name CIB (Community Indonesia in Beihang). CIB, and now BUISA, serves as a hub for fellowship and solidarity among Indonesian students, providing a supportive environment for academic adaptation and life abroad.
As the student population grew and the dynamics of the Indonesian community at Beihang evolved, the organisation expanded its role significantly. Beyond being an internal support system, BUISA acts as the representative body for Indonesian students at Beihang University. BUISA plays an active role in introducing and promoting Indonesian culture and values within the international campus environment. Through various social, academic, and cultural activities, the association strengthens solidarity while building a positive image of Indonesia.
In 2024, CIB officially rebranded to BUISA. This transition symbolises the start of a new, more structured, professional, and sustainability-orientated era. As an active branch and partner of PPI Tiongkok (Indonesian Students' Association in China) and PERMIT Beijing (Indonesian Students' Association in Beijing, China), BUISA serves as the official platform for all Indonesian students at Beihang University. BUISA acts as a vital link for voicing aspirations, serving students' needs, and representing the interests of the Indonesian students' at the university level.

Institutional Standing of BUISA
BUISA stands independently of Beihang University's internal campus bureaucracy, and don't receive any extraordinary support nor funding from the university. BUISA acts under the authority and supervision of The Embassy of Indonesia to China, Beijing through PPI Tiongkok (Indonesian Students' Association in China) and PERMIT Beijing (Indonesian Students' Association in Beijing, China). Through recognition from the diplomatic mission of Indonesia to China, BUISA is entrusted with the responsibility of fostering a supportive community for Indonesian students, promoting cultural exchange, and representing their interests within the university and in collaboration with other Indonesian students' associations in China and the embassy.
Our Situation Regarding the Hangzhou Campus
BUISA holds direct jurisdiction over Beihang University's campus in Beijing (Xueyuan Ave. and Shahe). As of March 2026, BUISA hasn't yet made any formal agreements with Indonesian students in the Hangzhou campus. Even so, we are committed to support fellow Indonesians studying or are interested in Beihang University, and we may act as liaisons between Indonesian students and Beihang University's international school office.
